THREE E EXPERIENCE
SYSTEM/INTERACTION DESIGNThe Three E Experience, Exercise Energize Enjoy, is a creative approach to battling pollution rates within Detroit, MI. The system features multiple themed bus stops, each based on the location, with interactive elements. These elements allow people to exercise and get involved in a fun and engaging way during their commutes, all while creating energy to power nearby streetlights!
CONTENT
This project began from climate change. My team and I, consisting of 3 other designers, worked together to develop a series of bus stops, each themed around their location in Detroit, that double as exercise, and use that to create energy to power nearby streetlights. The project both beautifies the community and engages the public, as well as creating clean energy to combat pollution.
PROCESS
This process began with an immense amount of research on climate change, specifically in Wayne County, leading to a focus on pollution and public health. My team and I worked together to develop multiple charrettes, exploring different ideas, before developing these themed bus stops. I designed the DIA stop, and created the motion narrative to tell our story.
CHALLENGES
This required a great deal of research, as well as working within a team dynamic. Developing a system with multiple working parts, and keeping a consistent visual approach across both bus stops, motion narrative, and branding was a challenge, as well as balancing that with multiple team members all working together.PROCESS︎︎︎
